Lennie Gallant has been named Solo Artist of the Year at the 2026 Canadian Folk Music Awards for his latest album, Shelter From the Storms.
The honour marks another major milestone in a remarkable career that has seen Gallant become one of Canada’s most respected songwriters and performers. Released as his 17th album, Shelter From the Storms captures the warmth, humanity, and lyrical depth that have long defined his work, while continuing to connect with audiences across the country.
The award follows a busy year of touring for Gallant, who spent much of 2025 performing for audiences from coast to coast.
